Orientation and Mobility Training

The Orientation and Mobility worker render Orientation and mobility training on a daily basis to blind persons. The aim of this service is to enable the blind to function as independently as possible.

During these sessions the Orientation and Mobility worker trains the blind to walk with a cane, introduce them to their home and work environment and train them to walk without assistance. They are also taught Daily Living Skills, for example the handling of their own money, preparation of food and washing and ironing of their clothes.
